Swiffer Deal!

I read about this deal on another website and just had to share. It's a rebate from Swiffer. You can get $10 back in debit card form when you purchase $20 worth of swiffer refills or get $5 back when you purchase $10 of swiffer refills. The details of the offer and link to the pdf document to print and send in is located at the following link:

Swiffer Rebate Offer

Click on the "Download Form for a $5 Debit Card" or "Download Form for a $10 Debit Card" - both bring up the same pdf document that you can print. There is a section where you indicate which debit card you are applying for. You can only submit one rebate - either the $5 or $10 rebate, not one of both.

You can also click on the "Save over $15 on Swiffer Products" link to the right of these links to bring up a page listing coupons available on swiffer products. Click on one of the products and it will take you to a page asking a question about where you learned about the product. Select the appropriate answer, then click submit. Once you do that, you will be brought to a page where you can enter your name, address, and email so that they can send you a coupon booklet with applicable swiffer coupons, as well as coupons for other products - looks like the booklet might also contain coupons for Cascade, Dawn, Febreze, Home Made Simple, and Mr. Clean - a total of $30 in coupon savings.

Just a word of caution, when I signed up for my coupons just now, it said that due to the high demand for their coupon booklets, that mine would probably not be received until 6-8 weeks from now. In order to use the rebate, you have to purchase your products between April 1, 2009 and May 15, 2009, I'm not sure my coupons will be here in time. I will probably just purchase the products I want before the coupons get here, then hold on to the coupons until I need the products again - assuming the expiration dates are not immediate. If you want however, you can wait until right before the ending date requirements for the rebate and see if the coupons happen to arrive and you can purchase the products in the required time frame using the coupons. Completed rebate requests must be postmarked by May 30, 2009 and received by June 15, 2009. Remember, the rebate is good only on purchases of swiffer refills (swiffer duster refills, swiffer wet jet pad/solution refills, or sweeper sweeper dry/wet refills).

Just a note on the debit card. I've received these type of rebates before and they are basically a visa or mastercard that has your rebate amount (in this case either $5 or $10) loaded on to it. Since it's a visa or mastercard, you can use it anywhere that accepts those forms of payment and you can purchase anything - so it's almost as good as cash. In my opinion, a little better since normal rebates come as a check and you have to make a trip to the bank to cash or deposit it.

Coupons or not, the rebate is basically a 50% discount and is a good deal. Since I'm just about ready to do my spring cleaning, I can definitely use a good deal on these swiffer refills - I use a ton of them! Hope this helps you all get some great money back on cleaning products.

Good Deals for the Week!

After last week's crazy sale at Albertson's, I'm actually glad that it's a really light week in sales. I'm also grateful that the sales that are available are easy and don't require a lot of thought. If you tried to do the Kraft/Unilever Promo and the Unilever Rebate last week, you must be tired like I am and hopefully you're glad to have an easy week too. Even though it is light, there are a few good deals out there to be had. Here's just a few:

Albertson's:
- Cantaloupe - 48 cents/lb
- Shoppers Value milk, gallon 1%, 2%, or skim - First 3 - $1.67
- Glaceau Vitamin water 20 oz. - FREE after coupon
- Powerade 32 oz. - on sale for 75 cents each, extra promo - Buy 10, get 5 free
- Kellogg's cereal 12-20 oz. Pictured: MiniWheats, Corn Flakes, Frosted Flakes - 79 cents after coupon
- Kotex Lightdays liners 22 ct. - 25 cents after coupon
- Quaker/Pepsi promo: Save $3 instantly when you spend $15 on participating items. Mix and Match over 400 items. Items worth noting - Aunt Jemima or Quaker pancake mix, Baked Lay's, Lay's Stax, Pasta Roni or RiceARoni side dishes, Quaker Breakfast Cookies or Morning Mini's , Quaker Chewy granola bars, Quaker Life cereal, Quaker True Delights granola bars, Sobe Lifewater, and Trop50 orange juice.

- Softsoap Liquid Hand Soap, 7.5 oz. - 64 cents each with coupon

Associated Food Stores (Macey's, Kohler's, Dick's, Lin's, Kent's):
- Apples, large Cameo or Braeburn - 99 cents/lb
- Seedless Grapes, green or red - 99 cents/lb
- Shur Saving Gallon Milk, 1%, 2% or Skim - $1.59

Walgreen's:
- Lysol Cleaning Products, 16 to 32 oz - Buy 1 Get 1 Free - use coupons and buy at least 3 different products and you can still send in the Lysol Rebate for $3 back - see previous post for details.
- Kellogg's Cereal, 12 to 17 oz - 83 cents each when you buy 4, use coupons, and factor in the $3 register reward (limit 4)
- Colgate Toothpaste - FREE or overage - if you use coupon and factor in the $3.29 register reward
- Personal Care Promo: Buy 6 participating items and get a check out voucher for $6 off your next shopping order. Hard to know if items are good deals since prices were not listed in the ad. I do know that Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion is a good deal. For example: Regular price = $3.49, 25% off = $2.62, use coupons either $1 or $1.25 off each. Purchase price (assuming have 6 coupons) = $8.22-$9.72 + tax, get $6 register reward back. Final out of Pocket = $2.22-$3.72 + tax or $.37-$.62 + tax each. By the way, the Walgreen's in Saratoga Springs and Lehi are both out of the lotion, so you may want to call first to verify they have enough. I'm assuming that other participating items in this promo are probably good deals as well, but I haven't priced/tried/heard about any others.

As always, I'm sure I've missed a few other good deals available that might be of interest to you. I recommend you check out each of the lists yourself to see any other deals and find out additional information on the ones I listed above.

Happy Shopping!

Lysol Deal

I found out about another deal on Lysol products today and wanted to share it with you. This week Albertson's has some of their Lysol products on sale for 50% off. In the ad it lists the wipes, bathroom cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, and all purpose cleaner. But when I got to the store a few more of the varieties were also on sale (the 4 in 1 cleaner, kitchen cleaner, and a few more).

In the 3/15 SS packet, there are the following coupons:
Lysol All Purpose Cleaner Pourables, any .50/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15
Lysol All Purpose Cleaner Trigger, Antibacterial Kitchen Cleaner or Lysol Plus Bleach, any .50/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15
Lysol Bathroom Cleaner or Mildew Remover, any .75/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15
Lysol Disinfecting Spray, any 12o z. or larger $1/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15
Lysol Disinfecting Wipes, any $1/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15
Lysol Toilet Bowl Cleaner, any .75/1 (5-11-09) SS-3/15

That in and of itself is a pretty good deal. However, in the 3/15 SS packet, on the same page as the coupons, there is information about a rebate of $3 when you buy 3 different products. Click on the following link for information and to download the form: Lysol $3 Rebate Site. Simply click on the "<< Print and download mail-in offer" link and it will bring up a pdf document that you can print, fill out, and mail in. Just remember that for the $3 rebate, you have to purchase 3 different Lysol products.

So here's just one example of how you can work it:

1. Go to Albertson's and purchase 1 bathroom cleaner, 1 toilet bowl cleaner, and 1 kitchen cleaner. Bathroom cleaner was $1.99, Toilet Bowl Cleaner was $1.49, and Kitchen Cleaner was $1.99
2. Use 3 coupons from 3/15 SS packet - 75 cents off of bathroom cleaner, 75 cents off of toilet bowl cleaner, 50 cents off of kitchen cleaner
3. Total paid = $1.99 + $1.49 + $1.99 - $.75 - $.75 - $.50 = $3.47 + tax
4. Mail in rebate for $3 back
5. Total spent for 3 Lysol products = $.47 + tax

I just noticed that there are also online coupons for the Lysol products on the same page as the the rebate details - look at the right hand column and click on the Print and Save box and it will take you to the coupons. They aren't quite as good as the coupons in the 3/15 SS packet, but better than nothing if you don't have the coupons from the paper.

You can, of course buy any of the Lysol products (excluding the Neutra Air products), but in order to get the best deal, you'll want to purchase those that are on sale for 50% off and have a coupon associated with them. Remember that the 50% off sale at Albertson's end on 4/14/09. There is a limit of 1 rebate submission per name, address, or household.

Great deal on cleaning supplies!

My Purchase at Albertson's

I know the sale at Albertson's this week is very confusing and it takes some time to work your list and get exactly what you want and need for the different offers. So I thought I'd post my purchase to give you just one example of how it can be done. Remember that we're all different and buy different things, so your purchase won't be exactly the same, but hopefully it will help reduce some of the confusion.

Items Purchased:
2 All Small & Mighty
1 Kool Aid Sugar Free Punch
5 I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Sprays (U)
2 Skippy Peanut Butter (U)
4 Vaseline Intensive Care Lotion (U)
7 Wishbone Salad Dressing (U)
1 Wishbone Bountifuls Dressing (U)
8 Dannon Frusion Smoothies
2 Dannon Light & Fit Yogurt 6 pks
1 Cook's Shank Portion Ham (bone-in) $12
4 Cube Steak (~ $2 a piece)

Total Paid = $39.79
Total Saved = $90.07
Will Claim Unilever Rebate for Ham for $12, so final out of pocket is $27.79

All of the items with a (U) listed above are participating products in the Unilever rebate, the sale price for each of these (before coupons) equals $40 exactly, so that make me qualify for the Unilever rebate. That $40 in addition to the All and Kool Aid added up to be just over $50, so I qualified for the Kraft/Unilever Promo for $10 off of meat when you buy $25 in participating products (since I had $50, I got $20 off of meat). I couldn't find a ham that was $20, so I opted for a $12 ham and some cube steak instead. My final out of pocket will be less since I'll only get $12 back from the Unilever rebate, but I do end up with 4 pkgs of cube steak, which my family loves, so I feel good about that. In addition to the meat and rebates, there is also a Dannon Promo going on where you get $2 back instantly when you spend $10 on participating products. So between my 8 frusions and 2 pks of yogurt, I was just over $10, so I received $2 back.

I found at the Lehi store yesterday morning and it seems that a lot of other people are finding this to, that the $10 in meat (or multiples of $10 if you are doing more than 1 per transaction) are not coming off automatically. So your best bet is to double check your items to make sure they add to the correct amount, before you get to the checkstand, and then make sure you get the $10 (or however many multiples of $10) off. The cashier at Lehi had a code to take off the $10 if it didn't automatically come off. If you have your list ready to go, just keep an eye as things are ringing up to make sure they ring up at the sale price, then be sure all of your promos come off at the end. If they don't, be sure to let the cashier know and in most cases, they are more than happy to adjust the total as it should be. If you are nice and show them your calculations, they are usually nice back and will be happy to help you. There are those few stores and cashiers that are a little more difficult, so it might be a good idea to double check as you head in to be sure you can do multiples in 1 transaction and get more than 1 $10 off meat credit. I've read about a few stores limiting it to 1 per transaction, although we've heard from Albertson's corporate that there isn't a limit.

Hope that helps to see one actual example. Again, there are many different ways to do this and many different things you can buy. Just be prepared, have some back-ups, and above all try to be nice. I've seen couponers get all frustrated and yell at the cashiers and that really that doesn't help anything. Whether they are all out of a product or if promos aren't coming off automatically is definitely not their fault. All it does is frustrate everyone and ruins the experience not only for the customer, but all the other customers the cashier has to help. We definitely don't want to lose our priviledges of using coupons in conjunction with sales, so keep positive and you'll find that everyone keeps happy and we all get to keep enjoying the excellent deals!

Good Luck and let me know if you have any questions!

Great Deal at Albertson's This Week!

I know I'm posting this early, but wanted to give you a heads up on a great deal at Albertson's starting tomorrow. They have a Kraft/Unilever Promo going on where you get $10 in free meat (from their meat dept or butcher block - hotdogs, bacon, etc. aren't items you can use) for every $25 you spend on participating products. So if you spend $50, you get $20 in free meat. I'm not sure if there's a limit, but they are asking you to only do 3 groups of free meat per transaction (or spend $75 get $30 in free meat) and then get back in line.

In addition to this promo, there was a Unilever ham or turkey rebate in the Unilever packet from Sunday's paper (4/5/09) where you get a rebate of up to $20 for one ham or turkey if you buy $40 in Unilever products. If you combine the two promotions, you can get some great deals. So to get the best savings, you could do the following, for example:

Buy $40 worth of Unilever products (this qualifies you for the Unilever rebate)
Buy $10 worth of Kraft or Unilever products (this plus the $40 gets you to $50, which qualifies you for two of the $10 off of a $25 purchase for the Kraft/Unilever Promo)
Buy a ham or turkey for $20 (assuming you can find one that is exactly $20)
Total = $70
Subtract $20 for the Kraft/Unilever Promo
Subtract any coupons you have
Pay $50 minus your coupons
Mail in your rebate for $20
Total Out of Pocket = $30 minus coupons for all items

Keep in mind that to get the $10 off of spending $25 Kraft/Unilever promo, you can use both Kraft and Unilever items, but you have to have $40 of just Unilever items to qualify for the Unilever rebate. Now, these Unilever items don't have to be purchased now or even at Albertson's, you just have to purchase $40 of Unilever items between now and the end of the month and they can be on different receipts. So don't feel you have to overly work your list to get the exact amount of Kraft and Unilever items. You can also purchase a ham or turkey elsewhere, but you won't get the double discount on it like mentioned above. Also, as you're looking at the lists, in the coupon column there will be an underlined U for products that are Unilever - that will help you determine which products you can buy that are participating items in the Unilever rebate.

Also, the rebate is for only 1 ham or turkey up to $20, so you can't buy 2 hams or turkeys and be reimbursed for both. Also, the rebate is up to $20, so if you buy a turkey for $24 you will only be reimbursed for $20 of the $24. Also, the Kraft/Unilever Promo is for up to $10 in meat, so if you spend over $10 per $25, then you will only be instantly credited for up to $10 for each $25. For example, if you buy $50 in participating products and buy $22 in meat, you will only be instantly credited for $20. Hope that makes sense.

One other thing to remember. So you can look at the Kraft/Unilever Promo in two ways: 1. You pay for the meat and get the $10 off of your participating products, or 2. You pay sale price - coupons on your particitpating products, then get the meat for free. When the PYP administrator did the Albertson's list, she took the promo off of the participating items you have to buy to show you how good of a deal they were. So if you are looking at those final prices on the list, you will have to remember that you will also be paying for your meat. You can also look at it the other way, where you get the meat for free, but will pay sale price - coupons for your participating items (without the 40% discount - $10/$25 = 40%). Either way it will be the same price, just remember that you won't get the 40% discount and free meat, you can bookkeep it on one thing or the other, not both. If this is confusing, leave me a comment or email me at jjzhawks@hotmail.com and I'll try to explain better.

I did see the Smith's ad, but the GS/PYP lists aren't up yet, but I don't think there are a whole ton of items on sale this week. However, the Smith's caselot sale is going on for another week, so if you didn't get your items yet, there's still time. I did hear though, that they aren't ordering in any more, so they won't be issuing rain checks or anything like that. Also, the caselot items won't be listed in the ad, so you may want to keep a hold of this week's ad if you want to remember how much everything was.

Associated Food Stores and Walgreen's had a few good deals, but I'll leave it to you to look over those lists as well as the rest of the Albertson's ad to see all of the other good deals, there are a few of them out there.

This is a bit of a tricky ad at Albertson's this week if you are trying to combine both the Kraft/Unilever Promo and the Unilever Rebate. As I've mentioned before, having things all planned out on your list will help you tremendously in making sure you get things as closely to how you have planned.

Good Luck!

Multiple Coupon Packets in the Paper Today!

Sorry for being a little lax on the posting the last few days, I've not been feeling well and my blog posting has been the thing to suffer. I'm hoping to feel better soon, but I did just want to post that there were 5 coupon packets in the Sunday papers today: 2 Smart Source, 1 Red Plum, 1 Proctor & Gamble, and 1 Unilever. If you don't get many papers or wait for the time to pick up extras, today may be the day. There were a lot of good coupons and I would suggest picking up a few extra if you feel you could use them and are able. As always, I recommend that you just find a newspaper dispenser where you feed in some quarters to get a paper instead of going into an actual store.

Keep in mind that there is a big Proctor and Gamble sale at Smith's this week (until Tuesday) and with the new coupons from the P&G packet, those items are now an even better deal. The lists will likely not reflect these new coupons, as they don't tend to redo them for new coupons. But it's worth looking over the lists or the ad again and keeping your P&G packet near to see if any of the new coupons apply to items you are interested in picking up.

Also, remember that because next week is a holiday, there aren't any coupon packets scheduled to be delivered with your papers. Just wanted to remind you before you dash out to get your papers first thing (like I do) and are disappointed. I suspect we've gotten so many this week to make up for the lack of them next week.

Walgreen's:
- There were a few deals, but nothing major and most of them were not as good as I've seen in the past at other stores.

As always, you should check the lists yourself for deals I might not have mentioned.

Definitely think about stocking up at the Smith's caselot sale this week. A lot of their items are lower than the caselot sales at other stores and they only do this twice a year - around this time in the spring and again in the fall. I've already been to Smith's this morning and purchased my cases as well as a bunch of the P&G items on sale. Here's what I bought:

Items Purchased:
- 1 case Libby's corn
- 1 case Libby's green beans
- 2 cases Kroger Tomato Sauce
- 2 cases Kroger Cream of Chicken Soup
- 2 cases Kroger Peaches
- 1 case Hunt's Spaghetti Sauce
- 6 boxes Tampax Tampons
- 5 Secret Deodorant
- 1 8-ct pkg Duracell AAA batteries

Total Paid = $136.70
Total Saved = $90.55

Plus I got a fuel reward for 15 cents off a gallon on my next fuel purchase at a Smith's gas station!
